Bianca Laureano, PhD, MA, CSES and Jini Tanenhaus, PA-C, MA, are a dynamic team and the co-presenters for this intensive, two-day training for practicing and emerging sexuality professionals.
As professionals in the sexuality field it is rare for us to experience training on abortion unless we seek such training. A focus on pregnancy and sexuality is common in our training which leaves gaps of information, how to offer support, education, understanding of therapeutic interventions, and identifying our own biases regarding abortion. This SAR is created for those supporting pregnant people seeking abortion services who wish to go deeper into their own perceptions, biases, knowledge, areas of growth and expansion. Discussions and images of pregnancy, medical tools and procedures, medications, state and federal laws, anti-abortion rehetoric, violence, and praxis may be included. Participants are individually contacted to confirm participation. This SAR is presented using reproductive and disability justice frameworks.
The Advanced ANTE UP! SAR: Abortion is vital because we will be guided by the goals of liberation with a focus on racial, reproductive, disability, gender, and media justice.
The investment for this professional development training, a requirement for AASECT certification, is only $395.
